土屋守が気ままに語る1,000のウイスキーストーリー。
今回は、第一巻の続きとなるスコッチ編②です！

｜この本について
このコロナの2年間、海外取材も国内取材もできなかった分、ひたすら原稿を書いてきた。その量は400字詰め原稿用紙にして5,0 0 0枚を超えるだろうか。当然、体に良いわけがない。眼もカスミ眼を通りこして、ピントが合わないことがしばしばで、時限爆弾を抱えているようなものだ。いつシャッターが閉じられるか分からないという恐怖と闘っている。では、やめればいいではないか…。そうはいかないのが、物書きの性分である。苦労して書いたものが、やがて1冊の雑誌、本となる。この達成感、喜びはなにものにも替えがたい。この『千夜一夜』も、今は50話ごとに1冊の本にするのが楽しくてしょうがない。

そのネタ探しもあって、昨年（2021年）秋からは、国内取材も再開させた。コロナ禍にあっても頑張っている国内の蒸留所を応援する気持ちもあるが、なによりも私自身が楽しいのだ。この歳になっても現場に出るとワクワクする。“事件は現場で起きているんだ”と誰かが叫んでいたが、原稿は現場を見てから書けである。この第3巻は再びスコッチ編としたが、第4巻は、そんな日本の現場もお伝えしたいと思っている。
